This is a wonderfully articulated piece. Began practicing third order thinking a few years ago and the freedom and agency gained is not something I would trade for anything else. My hope is that the dividends will be an all round fulfilled life, to serve as an example of the alternative to the life lived within the first and second order thinking, which seems to be the accepted norm.

If I could print out this read in PDF form to read, reread and cite, I would really appreciate.

Blessings.

Fascinating post, Jenni!

How did you come to the realization that you should ask these third-order questions?

Have you ever found yourself trapped in a system or way of life?

This was a phantastic and thought-provoking piece, I really enjoyed it. One question: Did you read Atomic Habits by James Clear?

I just posted a long reflection of my 3 years of intentional art practice while navigating motherhood and a full-time job, and so much of what you’ve talked about is valid and valuable for the life I’m building. Your post showed up at the right time and I’m definitely going to implement more third-order thinking in my daily life. Thank you for writing this ☺️
